Extension Activities Using Scripts and Keywords

SCRIPT Activities

 

For any lesson, get a copy of the script.

 

  1. Have students read the script along with the video.
  2. Assign students the role of a character and practice the dialog.
  3. For extra practice get a friend or co-worker and take turns as different characters and "act out" the script. 
  4. Make a cloze activity with the script by editing out certain nouns, words or phrases.

          Then have the students fill in the blanks.

 

 

KEY WORD Activities

 

For any lesson get a copy of the KEY WORDS

Key words include verbs, nouns and phrases or expressions.

 

  1. For any verb - write present, past, future tense or other conjugations
  2. For any noun -  Write the definition or draw a picture.
  3. For expressions - define or write another way to say the same thing.
  4. Combine verbs and nouns to make sentences.
  5. Put nouns into categories.  Example: things you can eat, things that must be served hot, food that must be refrigerated so it does not spoil, etc.
  6. Practice asking questions.  Write sentences asking use Where..., May I have, What..., etc.  with the nouns.
